TIME Magazine Covers — WTF, America?

Here’s a screenshot of TIME Magazine’s website. I just grabbed it after seeing something similar on Facebook. At first I thought it was a joke.

WTF, America? Are we not equipped to handle the same stories that the rest of the world gets? And in case you think that this is a one-time occurrence, here’s a collection of the magazine cover disparity.

Colorado elevates beer to an art form

Colorado’s Front Range is the Napa Valley of beer. (But we still appreciate PBR on occasion.) We produce more beer by volume than any other state. Putting aside major brewers like Coors, Colorado has one of the largest concentrations of craft breweries in the country, with over 120 locations throughout the state.

COLORADO FACT(http://t.co/luckJLmp):Colorado has more microbreweries per capita than any other state.

WOW it’s been a long time: Mud Runs and Bacon

So…I’ve been really preoccupied with my fabulous full-time work at the Fine Arts Center. Good stuff. But I want to get back into the swing of the whole blogging thing with a couple of quick thoughts on two trends that fascinate me:

1. Mud Runs
What’s the deal with the sudden rash of mud runs around the country? There’s the Tough Mudder, the Devil Dash, The Orginial Mud Run (not to be confused with World Famous Mud Run) and of course the uber-branded Merrell Down & Dirty Mud Run National Series. My advice: If you really want to experience bootcamp, there are other ways. Like, real boot camp. Go enlist. They’ll pay you to pull your tired body through mud fields.

2. Bacon
I know vegetarians who are veggie except for bacon. My brother enjoys a pound at a go. It’s nice as a condiment, ok as a national holiday, but really comes into its own as an infographic.  (See below.)

Putting the two trends together, I’m starting to think that hardcore bacon consumers must enjoy huge calorie-intensive, mud-based events, thus justifying further bacon consumption. Am I right?
